White Linen, Red Dot: Where the Strength and Silence of Womanhood Take the Stage

The SAATH theater Festival, organized by Off-Kendrik November 21-23rd in Watertown, MA, will present the premiere of White Linen, Red Dot, a deeply evocative new work adapted from the forthcoming book by writer and director Dipali Trivedi. Rooted in personal observation and years of listening to the lived experiences of women and men around her, the piece transforms real stories into a moving theatrical exploration of identity and self-discovery. Performed in multiple languages, the play captures the layered emotional landscapes of South Asian life, honoring the authenticity of each voice. At its core, White Linen, Red Dot reflects the tension between tradition and individuality through the stark imagery of white linen and the boldness of a red dot—symbols that hold both restraint and rebellion.

“They say good girls don’t talk but good girls don’t make history either. These girls talk and share their inner voice- Fierce, Bold and Unapologetic!! “- Quote by author and director Dipali Trivedi who is a successful Tech entrepreneur from MIT and avid hiker who has hiked Everest base camp in 2024.

These tales are not of complaint or pleas for sympathy, but from stories where women begin to recognize their own strength, speak truths long held within, and reclaim the power of their inner voice. This is the heart of the project: a quiet yet profound assertion that true women’s empowerment emerges not from external validation, but from the courage to speak, to feel, and to stand in one’s own truth. The play fearlessly engages with provocative and culturally charged themes such as jealousy, transgender identity, triple talaq, platonic love, and even a man’s perspective on negative side of feminism. These stories celebrate resilience, clarity, and self-realization—qualities that often bloom in the most unexpected moments of everyday life.

In addition to White Linen Red dot, SAATH festival has many different plays showcased Nov 21-23, 2025, at Mosesian Center of Arts in Watertown, MA.
