1) Tell us your story. What inspired you to become a musician?

I grew up singing at a very young age. I was classically trained in Opera and competed around the greater Boston area. I ended up going Berklee College of Music and that’s where I started to sing a more contemporary style. When I graduated, I moved to NYC and met my producer (and now husband) who encouraged me to start writing my own stuff. I started EVAN GIIA in 2016 and here we are today!

2) You are also on tour, playing at venues across the U.S. What have been some of the most exciting moments of your tour? And do you have any pre-show rituals?

I absolutely love being on stage. This past summer was a blast touring with DJ duo Louis The Child at arenas around the US. I was also lucky enough to play a few festivals, which are some of my favorite moments. You never know how many people will show up to a festival for your set, at Life Is Beautiful in Vegas this year, I walked out on stage to about 8,000 people. I was so shocked I almost forgot the words to my first song!

To prep for my shows I make my green room as calm as possible light candles burn sage, do a workout in the AM, stretch my feet out (I jump for 45 mins straight during my set) and do my vocal warm ups.

3) Tell us about your music. How would you describe your style? And how do you find inspiration for your songs?

My music is a fusion of electronic / pop. My goal is to write songs with catchy relatable hooks and classic electronic production. The ideas for my music comes from my everyday thoughts and feelings. I try to find everyday situations in my life that my fans will feel like they can relate to and make them into a song.

4) Who are your top favorite female artists right now?

Right now my favs are: Julia Wolf, Holly Humberstone and Tommy Genesis

5) You are starting your tour on October 22nd in Cambridge. As a Boston-based platform, share some details on that for our readers?

I have been opening for other artists for 5 years working really hard to eventually have my own show and own stage. The time has finally come! My first headline tour is a major milestone for me and my career.

The ENDORPHINS tour is coming through 6 cities in the US. First stop is Boston at The Sinclair in Cambridge.

My goal is to give my fans a boost of ENDORPHINS during the show, leaving them smiling and sweating by the end.  Hope to see you there!!!
